This problem just happened to me, and the only fix was to follow Lloyd\’s directions and kill the process called \”SearchUI\”. The process started itself back up after about two seconds and voila , search worked again. Just as I was about to begin frothing at the mouth in regards to the original answer sure, Ill start command prompt after searching for it in a search box that doesn\’t return any results I came across your answer.

The only thing I had to do, though, was \’end task\’ for \’SearchUI\’ because \’Cortana\’ was no where to be seen on the list.

Update 1: Microsoft has stated that they have pushed out a fix and that it should be resolved windows 10 search not working blank free \”most\’ users.

If you already implemented the fix below, you can enable Bing search again instructions below and see if the issue is resolved for you. If it is not, you will need to use the fix again and wait for Microsoft to resolve the issue.
